Dear Friends,

To read this Floppy Gazette, click on the blue links above. Notice that the "View Other Floppy Gazettes" link, above, lets you read past issues.

In this issue we present ways people use EQ5 personally and professionally. We also suggest learning opportunities. Can you tell how much we want you to be able to use our products to do what you'd like to do?

What's up with you?

We love the fun letters you send us, such as:

"Dear EQ,

Thanks for explaining the block color stackings. We ordered a new computer today. I guess I won't tell my husband that Windows 95 wasn't the problem!"

We also like knowing where your EQ5 quilts have been shown, or those "odd" uses you find for EQ5. See our Show & Tell, and Works for Me columns for our report.

Made by friends of Dear Jane for Penny McMorris and Dean Neumann

Penny & Dean's Excellent Surprise!

A group of Dear Janers really pulled the cloth over our eyes -- they not only made us our own red, white and blue Dear Jane quilt, but they even got the design into the Dear Jane program! We knew nothing....Read the full story of how Karan Flanscha and Jean Folkes wowed us.

Andrea's Designing

And what are we up to? EQ Webmaster, Andrea Poulimenos, has been designing quilts for Marcus Brothers' Web site. Also, check out the cool blocks she drew (she's amazing!) on the EQ Haiku page.

We're on T.V.

Watch for us on your local PBS television station. See which four programs we'll be on here.

EQ5 Computer Lab Classes at Quilt Festival

We'll again sponsor a Computer Lab at the International Quilt Festival this Fall. Barb Vlack and Fran Gonzalez will teach 6 1/2 days of hands-on EQ5 classes in Houston, Texas from October 27 - November 2, 2003. Hewlett-Packard's Craig Hamer will also be there, team-teaching two Printer Magic classes. See complete schedule and sign-up information here. Our class administrator, Barbara Gilstad, may be looking for classroom helpers. Contact us if you're interested.

Anniversary Contest
Take a chance, and help us celebrate our Tenth Anniversary by entering our quilt contest. There are fourteen chances to win either a Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 1220 printer, or EQ products, or both. Contest deadline: September 1, 2003. See the Anniversary Contest page for more information.

What Else is Coming in 2003?

- We'll be at the Nashville show in late August.
- Barb Vlack's tutorial, EQ5 Quilt Design -- out in late summer
- Susan McKelvey's tutorial, EQ5 Color -- out in late summer
- We're still working on our book and CD-ROM by popular designer, Karen Stone, of New York Beauty fame. We hope to have it out this fall....

Enjoy your summer!
If it's summer where you are, get away from those computer screens for some sun fun. Thanks for reading!

Best wishes from us all!
Dean, Penny, Ann, Margaret, Andrea, Lu, Jill, Jan, Sara L., Sharon, Kevin, Jenny, Monica, Angie, Heidi, Sara P. and EQ the Mouse.
