Beautiful Elephants in memory of Steve Irwin by: Jill Buttel – Taree Australia
I found this elephant panel in Sydney and fell in love with it immediately, I wanted to keep the quilt simple so not to draw any attention away from the elephants. I am thrilled with the finished quilt. |

Mom's Fans by: Sindy DeNamur
After my mom, Annie Gertrude Ball, passed away in August 2008 I discovered four quilts in various stages of completion. She had completed 24 of the Dresden Fan blocks and had the pieces all cut for the rest. I wasn't sure how she had assembled them (I need a pattern to go by!), so I scanned the fabrics, created blocks, and designed a lay-out. The 24 blocks that create the large diamond chain are the blocks that Mom created (a chain of love). The blocks that create the center portion and the four corner areas are the blocks that I completed. I then chose sashing and border fabrics. When I had completed the top, I quilted it using a long arm machine at a local quilt shop. |

Noah's Ark by: Eileen Hoheisel
I finally finished a baby quilt that I started at least 6 years ago. It's out of all leftovers I did a quilt with some type of triangles in it--the HSTs in the pinwheel blocks are the corners that were supposed to be thrown away, but cheap me couldn't do it. So I saved them, used them as leaders/enders, and sewed them together. If they hadn't been already sewn into pinwheels when I dug it out last week, I think I would have thrown them away now, they're only 2" blocks. I started the quilt by just sewing together what I had to work with, but when I started on it again last week, I drew it up in EQ to figure out what I could do with it [I didn't even have EQ when I started]. I did stitch-in-the-ditch and free motion quilting on it. It's so nice to finally finish this UFO! |

Skyscrapers by: Katie Levesque, Connecticut
The quilt is made from just one basic block, but I enjoyed playing with color and value to create the illusion of depth, so I call it “Skyscrapers.” I so appreciated the many handmade baby quilts and blankets I received when I had my first son that I got into quilting myself. I’m largely self-taught and still have a lot to learn, but I’m enjoying the process. I made this quilt for friends who didn’t know if they were having a boy or a girl, so I decided to use bold, vibrant colors. For a quilt that actually has very few pieces and was quick and easy to make, I’m pleased with the results! Thanks for a great product! |

Kaleidoscope en Famille by: Simone Lherbon
This patch is inspired by Andrea Bishop's cd. The lower right block was drawn by my son on EQ6 I had a lot of pleasure to make it and a lot of happiness day after day. I machine quilted for the first time and also in the machine to embroidery. It is very funny. |

Pink and Brown Mugs by: Anna Branch
I designed this quilt for my e book. I made some blocks, scanned them into EQ and did a basic design so I could see how it looked and to get fabric requirements. The second quilt is the finished project as it will appear in the book. EQ has made designing patterns a breeze and freed me from most of the math requirements. Thank you, EQ. |
