Do You EQ? Featuring Evann Broussard

Evann with her Welcome to the Jungle design

Do you EQ? Evann Broussard does.
Evann designs with her mother's EQ5 for fun. It's so easy a child can use it!

She learned EQ5 in a 3 hour class at International Quilt Festival in Houston with her mother Janice.

Evann is ten. We think her quilt is a ten, too!

She does embroidery and is in the middle of making her first quilt. It is a log cabin design in colors of pink and purple which are both her favorite colors (pictured bottom-right). She has dyslexia, so working with her hands helps her learn to focus. She likes to ride her bike, listen to music, and play with her dog. She wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.

Evann got her own sewing machine for Christmas this year (a 1950s Singer) and is always watching her mother make quilts. She is quite helpful in counting pieces and organizing quilt blocks. She also loves to work on the computer and frequently makes simple designs on EQ5.

Evann and her quilt design, Welcome to the Jungle are pictured above.

EQ5 is fun and neat. I can make stuff just like you now, Mom.
